Music in the Holy Ghost Parish
Welcome to the Holy Ghost Music Website.

Since moving into the new church of St. Bede in December 2006 we have, as it were, pooled our musical and singing talents and skills. In the past we had music led Masses in 4 different places, covering 5 Masses. Now we have 3 Masses in St. Bede’s, a rota has been worked out so that all can use their skills and the Parish can benefit from varying styles of music.

Masses are on a Sunday only: 9 am, 11 am and 6.30 pm.  Usually the Choir/organ lead the 9 am; the Cantor/organ the 11 am; and rolling rota of varying styles at the 6.30 pm: organ, piano, music group and occasionally unaccompanied singing. We also have another music group and a group led by the Filipino community who play at the 11 am on an occasional basis, when this happens the Choir/organ have a rest and the 9 am experience the Cantor/organ style.

How blessed we are to have so many musical and singing skills in our Parish. I hope that this website will help you to get a sense of the different styles available here at St. Bede’s.

This website provides an overview of the music departments and different styles of musical liturgy celebrated at the Church of St. Bede, Holy Ghost Parish. This website also provides an insight into the "church organ" which for hundreds of years has been (and continues to be) the main musical instrument for many churches and cathedrals throughout the world. The Holy Ghost Parish has two very impressive yet radically different organs; namely the the Victorian pipe organ at the Holy Ghost Church and the 21st century digital organ at the new Parish Church of St. Bede.
